How Group CJ Can Pump Up Your Business

Coffee Beans to Ideas: The Idea Factory At Work

Group CJ’s funky, fun studio at 314 Old Vine has a storied past. In 1929, it began as the Kentucky Coffee Company. Over the years, it has been Lexington’s home to the Courier-Journal, the Chevy Chase Chronicle, an auto-shop, an architect’s studio, and of course, the hippest, happening idea factory in Lexington. Connie’s father Harry even operated Records, Tapes & Electronics distributors out of this spot in the 70s. In the early 80s, Connie’s husband Lynn Cravens opened his architectural firm on the ground floor and converted the warehouse into the funky offices they are today. Group CJ recently took possession of the entire building and commissioned client Barney Miller’s to install an automated multi-media presentation system with a 9 foot screen on the ground floor. Other upgrades will include a new catering kitchen for all of the events we love to host. Watch out for your next invitation!

In early February, Group CJ conducted an exciting, energizing ‘brand rally’ for long-time client Barney Miller’s. This short, powerful session re-illustrated for the entire Barney Miller’s team the core values of the business brand and demonstrated how each employee is a valuable “brand ambassador”. The staff was armed with talking points, tips on communicating the brand to potential customers, even a “superhero creed” to remind them how to represent themselves as “Techno Superheroes.” Why is branding critical in this day and age? "If you advertise it they will come” is no longer relevant to a consumer hit with over 3,000 advertising messages a day. Your brand is what sets you apart from the competition. Think about Nike and Starbucks, established brands. Why are we paying $5 for a cup of coffee and over $100 for a pair of sneakers? We believe the brand. The experience. The emotion and the environment. We’ve been sold – by a brand. Is your brand as strong and as clear as it could be?

Group CJ has branded clients from the City of Berea and Farmers Bank to Cheapside Bar & Grill. It takes research, creative sessions, evaluation of each niche market, and in the end, an energizing presentation that involves your entire staff. If you need a little Brand Aid, call Group CJ and ask Connie about a ‘brand rally’ for your business and employees today.
